The challenge
TAFS speaks to two very different people. A filer wants a bigger refund and fast cash. A future tax pro wants income, free software and a path to owning a business. TAFS needed a monthly flow of posts that served both, plus seasonal pushes in February and recruiting drives before the next season.
Who it speaks to
Filers: W-2 workers, the self-employed and side hustlers (hair stylists, barbers, lash techs, caterers). Recruits: people who want to leave a 9-to-5 and build a tax business under TAFS.
Visual system
- Color
- Deep emerald and teal with metallic gold; Valentine’s season adds red roses and silver hearts on white.
- Typography
- Bold sans for refund amounts and offers, an elegant script for seasonal words (“Better Valentine’s”, “Clientine”), and condensed caps for recruiting headlines.
- Signature
- Dr. Misha Milam is the consistent face across filer and recruiter posts.
How we designed it
- Filer posts lead with the money: refund amounts and same-day cash advances up to $9,500.
- Recruiter posts lead with freedom and growth: “From 9-5 to owning my time”, free tax software, a sign-on bonus.
- February was planned as a four-post Valentine’s series with one shared visual language, so the campaign reads as a set.
- Software offers are shown as boxed products (OLT Pro, TaxSlayer) to make a free offer feel tangible.
- Event and community pieces (“Build your legacy”, “Join TAFS family”) carry the TAFS teal-and-gold into recruiting events and Instagram.
